New Vendors!

Our Christmas trip to Colorado Springs was a success and we signed up three new vendors: Black Forest Photography, Hillside Consultants (florist), and Something Classic Events (Day of Ceremony Coordinator). I'm very excited about our choices and glad that we spent the time to interview so many vendors. We ended up not going with a single Broadmoor "preferred" vendor and I don't regret it so far. We visited the Broadmoor and signed the contract so it's official. We saw maybe 200 geese on the half frozen Cheyenne Lake along with 2 white and 2 black swans and several ducks. It was very cool to watch.

Bryan and I also did our Penrose Room tasting last week- a seven course meal with wine pairings! For the last course, they brought out two 8 inch wedding cakes to taste: a strawberry and cream cake with American icing and a chocolate raspberry cake with fondant icing. Both were delicious but the fondant icing was gross (pretty, but gross) so we'll be having yummy American icing at our wedding. The Penrose Room is amazing. The service was impeccable- all of the servers knew our name and why we were there, and I could see them watching us so that nothing was served until we were ready. I think everyone will really enjoy our reception!

Next Week

Who's stoked to interview more wedding vendors?! B and me will be talking to two florists, two wedding planners, an officiant, two photographers, and The Broadmoor catering manager next week in Colorado Springs. It's so draining but it'll be good to get this finalized.
